Chapter 21

  • Celo's eyes seemed to be weighted down, her body feeling as though it was being submerged in wet cement. Every inch of her was ablaze, and the sensation was far from pleasant. Her face felt odd, as if something was affixed to it. Her wolf was weary, but it didn't seem to be a side effect of the Wolfsbane. She sensed that her wolf was alright. Perhaps a run would help rejuvenate her; a thought she decided to act upon as soon as she managed to pry her eyes open.
  • Her fingers twitched as she attempted to move her arm, wishing to remove whatever was covering her face, unless it was preventing the discomfort from worsening. She clenched her eyes shut, memories of the cause of her agony resurfacing. She cursed the stupid lycan. Who else but a complete jerk could contain so much Wolfsbane within them?
  • A vision of a golden lycan marking her suddenly appeared in her mind, causing her eyes to fly open. She found herself staring into a captivating set of topaz eyes that left her breathless. The eyes were accompanied by a face so beautiful, it could only belong to a deity. His lips, perfectly chiseled, were slightly parted, accentuating his robust cheekbones. His Grecian nose stood out against his suntanned skin. She felt an urge to twine her fingers in his dark golden curls and pull him closer.
