Chapter 41

• Drake and Eleanor met up after a day, as requested by the healthcare staff they met before, and returned to the hospital to get the Avuncular DNA test results, which they meant to receive today. Eleanor and Drake both stared at the results at the same moment, their palms wet from twitching and their faces lit up with excitement. Eleanor was given the opportunity of opening the envelope with the results, which Drake granted her. Taking it one step at a time, she slowly unfolded the piece of paper until they reached the finish, where a 99.99 percent certain evidence of relationship was revealed. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized she had finally located her birth family, who had been searching for her and who cherished her presence in their lives.
• They were now making their way towards her parents' location with the help of Drake. Eleanor could not help but feel lucky and delighted when she saw that she would still be able to meet her family, and even more so when she discovered that her uncle had already arrived to accompany her. She could not be more grateful than she already was for the fact that the blind optimism she had earlier was beginning to take on some color.
• She suddenly recalled the names she had grown used to hearing: Colleen White, her mother's name. She could still recall how many people had told her that her mother was a strong and competent lady; that she was powerful and tremendous like her father; and that she deserved to be celebrated. Every part of her is giddy with excitement at the prospect of meeting her parents. To be as strong and escapable as her parents, as well as powerful, was something she wanted to achieve; she wished to make them proud of her.
