Chapter 34
- Their dinner came to an unexpectedly pleasant conclusion. They had a brief conversation on any topics they might be able to come up with. Despite the fact that much of it was nonsense, it was amusing enough to keep their supper light and pleasant while they all savored the beautiful cuisine that Eleanor had prepared for them all. Everything she had prepared had been devoured, as had been customary for her. Regardless of how much food Eleanor prepares, Zachary and Marcus both have a voracious appetite, resulting in everything Eleanor prepares being devoured very immediately. Eleanor, on the other hand, was always pleased to see their dishes cleared of any leftovers since she believed it was the highest compliment a person could bestow on the person who prepared the dinner.
- Gratefully though, throughout the entire meal, Marcus no longer bothered to ask more details regarding the woman who he learned to be inside of the house. While the answer to the query, 'How could Marcus possibly know that there is another lady in the home when she is certain that he would not be able to see her since Zachary has brought the woman upstairs even before he gets into the dining room,' remained unclear in Eleanor's mind.
- All Eleanor could do was push all of those thoughts to the back of her mind, knowing full well that it would be yet another one of those inquiries that would go unanswered in the end. She would not dispute that there were many things that were out of the ordinary in either Zachary or Marcus's life, but she would never dare to inquire because she was confident that she would not receive an explanation from them.
