Chapter 20
- "Are you jealous?" Zachary could not help but inquire, given the intensity with which Eleanor's facial emotions were conveyed. He was relieved to know that she cared enough about him to be able to experience such emotions, on the other hand, the other half of him did not want her to experience such emotions because he did not want her to be hurt.
- "No, I'm not," Eleanor responded instantly as she swiftly turned her gaze away from him, as she did not want him to see her lie via her eyes, something she had done earlier. "I know I do not have the right to get jealous," she continued in a hushed tone, without looking him in the eyes. He was simply someone he had purchased at an auction to serve as a sex slave; she was well aware that all of the wonderful things she was experiencing with him would eventually fade away, and she was prepared for that. She was nothing more than a piece of property, and she had no right to complain, much less get envious.
- "No please... do not say that." In an instant, Zachary pulled her around towards him and wrapped his arms tightly around her, allowing her to rest her head on his broad chest. Above all, he did not want his beloved companion to suffer any harm.
