Chapter 71
- "We wait for the treatment to work again," she murmurs. "She's been depressed since she found out, and I just hope that your brother and you can cheer her up a bit."
- I nod slowly, saying goodbye to her and going back into the house, watching my mother in the kitchen humming a song while drying the cups that Jason had washed. My brother looks at me and seemed to notice that something was wrong, but he didn't show it in the same way I was. As soon as I had the chance to tell him what was happening, he also looked dejected.
