Chapter 43
- I chuckled at his anger, but had to quiet down instantly when he ordered me to have breakfast and shower since he was going to take me to work today. So while he used the bathroom, I had breakfast peacefully until it was my turn. Under the warm artificial rain, I thought about what I would tell Christian about the visit I had gone on with Alexander and the arrival of my overprotective brother.
- Coming out of the house with Jason, I noticed he was carrying a black backpack and, seeing my curiosity, he explained that he had been called to fix the engine of a sailboat and that he would also pick me up from work to take me for a sail to test it out. As we entered the parking lot, I began to adjust the strap of my briefcase before putting my arms through the straps of the black backpack, which was heavier than usual, while my brother put on his helmet and then helped me put on mine. The only advantage of having a motorcycle and a brother quite skilled in handling it is that you were one hundred percent sure that you wouldn't have any accidents, but it was just when we were stuck in traffic that I remembered Ethan would pick me up today to take me to work as he did every morning, and I hoped there wouldn't be too much fuss about not coming with him.
- Jason stopped in front of the Bornout building alongside a black truck that I knew perfectly well. He got off the motorcycle, taking off my helmet when I saw Christian getting out, adjusting his jacket. He seemed to notice my presence instantly and turned to look at me, but his face turned serious, causing me to furrow my brow in confusion.
