• Just like Allie, Christian refused to answer any questions I asked while the driver took us to the outskirts of Los Angeles, driving on the highway that would lead us to a rather uncertain destination for me. In an attempt to distract me, he decided to give me a bag of candies, just like he had done in Japan, showering me with affection and hugs that I gladly accepted, but without giving in.
