Chapter 15
- I hit my knee on the table upon hearing my name and let out a groan. My heart raced as if it wanted to jump out of my chest; in the end, the grenade had exploded. I look at her, scared, for a few seconds, waiting for her expression to change or some sign, but apparently nothing happened. I take a deep breath and try to calm down when I see her end the call. She approaches me with joy emanating from her being, finally approving the venue, so we head back to the Bornout building where her car was parked. She said goodbye to me, scheduling a meeting for Monday and talking about a meeting with her bridesmaids. So now I was sitting at my desk with the pills in front of me, swallowing one, hoping it would calm my already so agitated self.
- "Everything okay?"
- I look up from my hands to see him leaning on the edge of my desk with his arms crossed a few inches from my chair. I noticed almost instantly how his shirt clung to the muscles of his arm and also the slight smile on his lips.
