Chapter 39

• I see him smile for just a few seconds before he takes me by the waist and sits me on his lap. I wrap my arms around his neck to play with his soft hair. When he notices my blush, he runs his left hand over my cheek, causing me to tilt my head to feel his touch even closer. Christian looks at me, shortening the distance between us to kiss me in a passionate way that surprises me for a moment, but then I respond to the kiss with the same intensity.
• The atmosphere changes from calm to completely charged with passion and need for each other. While his hand remains on my cheek, the other one wraps around my waist, bringing our bodies even closer. His hand moves so carefully from my cheek down to my chin, neck, shoulder, and when it reaches my spine, it sends shivers through my body, making me sigh during the kiss. But when his hand rests on my waist near my scar, I instinctively pull away abruptly and embarrassed.
