• Lucas was surprised to see Doctor Ezra's call very early in the morning. He took a while to wonder what would make the doctor call him very early. It was not time for his check-up, and there was no challenge whatsoever.
• His kids were home and we're doing fine. Daphne was with her mother-in-law in the city for some business. It only left him with Scarlett. She had been down with an ailment and he had not bothered to check up on how she was faring.
• He picked up the phone immediately on the second ring.
