• Alex was distracted by the noise and turned around immediately. A small crowd was already gathering and he first looked to where Scarlett had been standing. She was not there.
• He headed towards the noise and there was Scarlett, soiled with wine from head to toe. His eyes widened in amazement and there was a tinge of amusement on his face.
• She looked up at him, her hair matted to her face and her eyes teary. She rushed out immediately as everybody gave her way. He went after her immediately and when they got outside, she was already flagging down a cab.
