Chapter 59

• Hilda had reluctantly agreed to a date with Lucas. She had felt bad about how he had left her in the lurch the last time. When she had seen his call, she was surprised at first, then there was a feeling that she needed to hear what he had to say.
• She had sat at the restaurant for a complete ten minutes and was thinking about leaving before Lucas walked in, looking as breathtaking as ever. She glued herself to the seat immediately as she looked at the fine man, clad in a blue suit with his hair drawn back in a smooth curl.
• He looked around as he scanned the restaurant for her, and when his gaze met hers, he broke into a smile and walked toward her. She stood up instinctively, and when he got to where she was before they shared an embrace. He held onto her longer than usual and she wanted to bask in his embrace. It was warm and it seemed to evaporate all the harsh feelings she had toward him.
