Chapter 41

• Alex looked around as he exited his hiding place. As soon as he heard the gunshot, he went into hiding. Trepidation overtook him as he watched from the window blinds of the building that he hid in.
• He could see Scarlett and he could see how much she struggled with her bleeding side. He looked at where the direction of the gunshot came from but he could not see anyone.
• When he was sure that it was safe, he came out and rushed to help Scarlett. He had only held her in her hand before she passed out.
