Chapter 31

• "I miss the kids so much", Scarlett began as they undressed in the beach house. The resort that Lucas had brought her to was mind-blowing, and she was sure to bask in the moment. She looked up, and he was not listening to her. He was outside and on a call. Her mood turned sour immediately.
• She went outside immediately, but before she could speak further, the nanny called her and she smiled. She knew that it was the kids. She answered immediately, and Claire's brilliant face appeared on the screen.
• "Mommy," she squealed. "My baby," Scarlett replied. She could not deny that she missed them already. Callan was playing a game and would not want to get distracted. "We miss you so much," she said as she shoved a spoonful of cereal into her mouth.
