Chapter 26
- Lucas stood on the balcony. He leaned on the banister and stared into the night. Scarlett placed her hand softly on his back and he turned around immediately. His eyes were teary to her surprise.
- "Are you okay, Lucas?" She asked him concernedly. He looked squarely at her. "I'm so sorry, Scarlett," he began. "If I knew better, I would not have been so cruel to you in the first place," he said to her.
- "You don't have to be sorry. You were coming from a bad place yourself," she said to him, placing her hands on his chest. He circled his arms around her waist instinctively, and she felt him harden against her. She chuckled.
