Chapter 9
- “Aren’t you scared?”
- The gorgeous stranger asked her before she could say something to cover her embarrassment. That question caught her of guard. Why would he expect her to be scared of him? Does she look that defenseless or fragile? She had no reason to be scared, yes, he was a stranger and they were a bit isolated but there were others around, people touring the resort. Besides, she felt no danger from him. At eighteen and having lived all her life in Waterside where everyone knew everyone, Ugo had not known danger, she hasn’t learnt to be apprehensive with people, or with men except when they were given off wrong vibes. So she felt no danger from him and it didn’t occur to her to pretend otherwise. Besides, showing fear has never benefitted anyone she knew, so what was the point of showing fear even when you feal it which she wasn’t?
