Chapter 26
- “This is fun.”
- Ugo thought as she dashed out of the woods to the paved path, Iyke hot on her heels. He could’ve easily caught up with her but they were having fun. She was a sprinter but he seemed not to be stranger to running either. She saw the hotels from a distance but didn’t want their day to end yet. Taking a left turn she headed for the artificial lake. She’d almost made it when the sand hindered her progress; she stumbled. But before she could fall, he grabbed her, lifted her off the ground and landed on the sand with his back, she on top of him. He rolled and their position changed.
- They were laughing, but soon their body heat registered, their laughter died and they gazed into each other’s eyes. As his head lowered slowly, Ugo closed her eyes and prayed that her first kiss will be magical. The type she read in her novels. He didn’t kiss her as she waited and prayed, her whole body trembling. Instead his nose teased hers, forcing her to open her eyes. He lifted his head and looked into her eyes. With his fingers he smoothed her hair out of her face and smiled at her. She tried to smile back but couldn’t hide her disappointment that her first kiss was not going to happen.
