Chapter 27
- “I want her.”
- Dante thought as he watched her go. In all his twenty-nine years of life, not even once could he remember wanting a woman this much, he hated it. As much as he wanted love, he didn’t want to give a woman that much power over his body. He knew he will be a good husband since he wasn’t naturally wicked or ruthless, only when it absolutely necessary. And watching the way his sisters’ husbands treated them, he knew he will be as good to his wife as they were to his sisters. Yet not once had he desired or even imagined having a grand passion with whoever ended up becoming his wife. He didn’t believe in grand passion. He was an intentional person, nothing he has done since he was eighteen has been unintentional. Thus his body yearning for this lady in a way he wasn’t able to control was new to him; he hated it.
- Ugo’s nearness called to his body and his body wanted to respond, it took everything in him to control himself and focus on what she was saying. He didn’t understand it, he didn’t like it. He’d been attracted to women before but never on this level and not when the woman was spitting fire at him, Ugo hated him. No woman had hated him, ever, they all wanted him, after all, apart from being eye candy gorgeous, he was Dante Henchman. Yet Ugo hated him, though she was attracted to him too, she didn’t like it either. She acted as if she couldn’t stand being in the same space with him.
