Chapter 57
- “My woman is here.”
- Dante’s heart jumped at the sight of Ugo. He hadn’t expected to see her again since she was always in the kitchen but even before she appeared following Selense and the other lady, he felt her presence. She was one of the best chefs he had tested his or her food and Dante had eating in lots of restaurants both in the country and outside.
- What made this diner the best was that you have this sense that you were eating something that was prepared, not in a restaurant but in your home. He didn’t know how they achieved it, he liked it. One other thing he’d noticed about the people of this town was, they valued neatness. You will not see a customer leave his or her table messy. The dirty dishes were arranged in a neat pile on each table as the customer left, making the work easier for the waitresses. No food particles on tables, no water or drinks spilled here and there. In fact, they eat as if they were in there homes. He wondered if it was a rule in the diner. What will happen if one was to leave his table messy? He wasn’t going to try it though. He liked tidiness and he appreciated it in others.
