Chapter 39
- “What’s going on?”
- Ugo wondered for the hundredth time as she kept busy in the kitchen. Every Wednesday, between eleven and twelve, the youths of Waterside gather at the town hall to deliberate on ways to move the town forward. From there, they will all come to the diner for the day’s specialty which was either Nkwobi, (a spicy Nigeria delicacy made of a cow leg) or snail kebab, or both if she has enough snails like today. Young men like meat.
- She had been in the kitchen all afternoon as the order kept coming, Ugo has gone into the eating area to make sure the crowd was there since she couldn’t understand while half of the town had gathered in her diner. The diner was filled to the brim, some where standing or sitting on the table while they hold their plates in their hands and eat. In order to have enough plates to serve the people, friends, families make their orders in group.
