• “Did he say yes?”
• Kenny asked as she walked up to them, Ben and Earl was a step behind. They had approached Ugo and suggested she ask Dante to give them the engagement party. Instead of cancelling it, Kenny and Ben would get married on that day. Ugo had no idea why Kenny wanted her to be the one to ask Dante, after all, she was Dante’s fiancée until few days ago. If she needed a favor from him, why didn’t she ask, why did Ugo has to be the one to ask? Kenny was yet to thank her for her part in her reconciliation with Ben, but she had not failed to rub her nose in on the kiss her father mentioned, a kiss she did not witness.
• Kenny hadn’t begged her to ask Dante, she had demanded it. Not sure why Kenny would send her on such errand, she had agreed to do it only because she thought he would have left town by the time she returned from school. But he was here still and now, Kenny was demanding she fulfill her promise.
