Chapter 62

• “When will I see her?”
• Dante wondered as Ben parked his truck in his father’s compound and they all climbed down. The house had a garage but Ben didn’t bother parking there, he was still going out. Theirs was a large compound, but not one of the mansions in the town. It was a beautiful welcoming home though. A duplex and by the right side was a bungalow that looked new and unoccupied. It was Ben and Kenny’s house, they’re waiting until after the wedding to move in.
• Like others in the town, the compound was spacious. It was the first thing Dante noticed about the houses in this town. Here, people had land aplenty. So their houses were built with unused lands surrounding them. He had wondered what it cost to keep such large untarred space clean and tidy as this compound was. Kenny’s house was the same. His father’s castle was large and spacious but that was because they can afford it. Not everyone have enough land to plant gardens and beautiful trees in their compound. In the city people tend to manage lands and built everything they needed in a small space. But here, people had the luxury of enjoying fresh air without fear of pollution. No wonder the idea of bringing gas plants into this town had enraged the people.
