Chapter 64

“Enough is enough!”
Ben thought as he swallowed hard trying to calm down. He was not a man used to giving free rein to his emotions but Kenny had been driving him crazy with her biting words against Ugo and he was near to exploding. He didn’t understand it, Ugo had done them a great service just yesterday yet Kenny hadn’t said one nice thing about her friend since then. True, she’d done that in the past, always making snide remarks, belittling Ugo but considering that Ugo helped in reconciling them, he’d thought that all her resentment will be replaced with gratitude, but no, Kenny’s resentment increased instead.
At first, he’d thought that maybe she truly was in love with Dante and wanted to marry him, thus she resented Ugo because she told Dante the truth which resulted in the guy calling off the engagement. It wasn’t that though, Kenny was the one who did not want to let him out of her sight. as if she was afraid that he will disappear. Kenny didn’t love Dante at all, she was happy to be with him so why did she still act as if Ugo had offended her somehow.
