Chapter 92
- Kathryn's eyes softened, welling up with tears as she reached out for him. Her hand found his, and she held on tightly. "I don't want you to cry because of me. This was all my fault, Daniel. I shouldn't have asked for more space," she whispered, tears streaming down her face. "I need you. I love you, and I almost wrecked everything. I thought I was going to die, and all I kept thinking was that I just wanted one more moment with you. That I just wanted to see you again and tell you I loved you."
- Unable to bear the slight distance between them any longer, Daniel leaned down and kissed her gently. She cried harder against him, winding her arm around the back of his neck and holding him close.
- Carefully, he wrapped his arms around her waist, taking a shuddering breath as she reciprocated his kiss. It felt like he was finally able to breathe for the first time in weeks, and relief nearly overwhelmed him. He'd been deprived of holding her like this for too long, and to realize they'd almost lost a lifetime of moments like this... The thought was gut-wrenching.
