Chapter 55

• Kathryn's jaw dropped as Zack exited the vehicle, a puzzled expression etched on his face as he followed them into the private elevator leading to the penthouse. Her heart pounded in her chest, a cocktail of nerves and desire swirling within her.
• The elevator journey to the top of the building was silent. Before long, the doors opened and Daniel, holding Kathryn's hand, led her past his guards and into his home, with Zack trailing behind.
• Daniel tightened his grip on her fingers, drawing her into his embrace and twisting her so her back was flush against his chest. They both faced Zack, who stood rigidly just inside the entrance, the door firmly shut behind him.
