• "I can assure you that you became our enemies ten years ago," Daniel responded calmly, causing Kathryn to gasp and clutch at his hand, her fingers squeezing his tightly.
• "Release my sister," Bran commanded, his voice full of authority. "Clearly, she wishes to be with her family. Not with you despicable lot." As soon as he finished speaking, his men brandished various weapons in a threatening manner. "This doesn't need to get ugly."
• "I agree," Daniel said. "This doesn't need to get ugly. So just get in your cars and drive away. We can arrange a meeting at a later date, but Kathryn isn't coming with you."
