Chapter 11

• Kathryn awoke, surprisingly well-rested, in the opulent surroundings of her new quarters. She had half-expected to find herself bound, or perhaps waking on the hard cot of some hidden dungeon that Daniel might possess. Her mind had been bracing for a classic captive scenario.
• Instead, she had slept soundly, a rare occurrence for Kathryn who was typically plagued by fitful sleep and nightmares. Her nocturnal habits had been shaped by past experiences, leading her to become a night owl, a trait that served her well during late-night shifts at the strip club.
• The thought of sleeping soundly with Daniel, her 'master', nearby should have filled her with fear. However, the previous night's events, which had ended more like a botched date than a hostage situation, seemed to have granted her a peaceful night's sleep.
