• "Before what, precisely?"
• "Just before," Kathryn responded nonchalantly, sipping her drink. She had no intention of informing Steve that she was romantically involved with Daniel, which was likely already apparent. She also wasn't going to tell his man that this situation between her and his boss was spiraling into something more serious, possibly a genuine relationship.
• From Kathryn's perspective, the rules had been completely discarded by now. "I believe Daniel would have no issue with me visiting my family, as long as you're there to safeguard me." She was exaggerating it, even fluttering her eyelashes at the man for added effect.
