• The subtle scent of coffee stirred Kathryn from sleep the next morning, coaxing her to open her eyes despite the lingering fatigue. The sheets were cozy, her body comfortably warm, and the arms securely wrapped around her waist, pulling her close to a solid chest made her sigh in satisfaction.
• She didn't need to turn around to know that it was Daniel holding her close, but she did anyway, yawning slightly as she opened her eyes, locking gaze with fiery blue eyes as he stared down at her.
• "Good morning, darling." Kathryn's voice was soft from sleep as she snuggled into him, draping her leg over his bare hip, her lips finding a faint scar on his chest and planting a kiss on it.
