• He hit SEND and stared at his phone for a few seconds, hoping for an immediate response. But nothing came. Jason took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts. Maybe she was just busy, or maybe she needed time to process everything. He needed to be patient, even though it was the last thing he wanted to do.
• He got back in his car and headed home, feeling a mix of determination and worry.
