• Dianne’s gaze fixed on Dylan with an intensity that made Lucy slightly uncomfortable. The baby's innocent face was soft and serene, his small chest rising and falling with each peaceful breath. Dianne frowned slightly, leaning in closer, trying to discern what was so familiar about him. She felt a stirring in her heart, an inkling that was growing stronger by the second. The more she looked, the more convinced she became.
• “ Lucy, darling, ” Dianne began, her voice thoughtful but tinged with curiosity, “ I must say, Dylan looks a lot like my son. ”
