Jason was gone. She had made the biggest mistake of her life, and she had no idea how she was going to fix it.
She rushed out of the hotel without looking back, leaving Adrian standing in the doorway, unsure of what to say. Once inside, she slammed the door shut and sat still for a moment, gripping the steering wheel as the weight of what had just occurred settled in her chest.
Jason’s face, full of anger and pain, flashed before her eyes, and she let out a choked sob. How had everything spiraled so horribly out of control? She had only wanted to say goodbye to Adrian, nothing more. But Jason had shown up, seen her in a hotel room with another man, and now he wouldn’t even listen to her.
