Chapter 35
- The night air was crisp, and the faint hum of city life buzzed around them as Lucy and Adrian strolled down the quiet street. The moon hung high, bathing the sidewalk in a soft, silvery glow. Lucy’s hand rested gently on her rounded belly, her steps slow and deliberate as she adjusted to the weight of her pregnancy. Adrian walked beside her, his arm occasionally brushing hers, offering a steady presence. Strangely, Lucy felt nothing. She frowned, thinking back to when Jason had done more than just touching her and she had respond. What was it about Jason? She asked herself. Remembering she was with another guy, she stopped herself from thinking about the man her heart truly belonged to.
- “ I needed this, ” Lucy sighed, glancing up at the stars. “ It feels good to get out of the house. I’ve been cooped up all day. ”
- Adrian smiled, his eyes warm as he looked at her. “ I’m glad you suggested it. It’s a beautiful night, and you deserve some fresh air. Plus, it’s always nice to have good company. ”
