Chapter 28
- The late afternoon sun cast a golden hue across the city as Lucy walked down the street toward the restaurant where she was supposed to meet Adrian. The restaurant looked upscale, with gleaming glass doors and neatly dressed patrons strolling in and out.
- “ What am I doing? ” she muttered under her breath. Her nerves kicked in, and she almost turned back, but before she could take a step away, Adrian appeared.
