Chapter 51
- “ Looks like it’s just you and me, little guy, ” she whispered, kissing his forehead. She tried to push the conversation with Adrian out of her mind, focusing instead on the one thing that mattered most: her son.
- Adrian walked down the street, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. He felt a strange mix of relief and sadness. At least she knew how he felt; he had finally gotten it off his chest. But now, there was an ache in his heart, the realization settling in that things might never be the same between them.
- He took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. He would wait, like he promised. He would wait as long as it took, even if he never got the answer he hoped for. For now, all he could do was keep being the friend she needed and hope that someday, she might see him differently.
