Chapter 59
- Jason drove through the city streets, his mind a tangled mess of thoughts and fatigue. The day had been long, filled with meetings, calls, and endless paperwork. He was drained, his body aching from the constant tension he’d been holding for weeks. He needed a break, even if just for a moment. As he passed by a small convenience store, the neon lights flickering in the growing dusk, he decided to pull over.
- A snack, he thought. Something to stave off the gnawing hunger that had settled in his stomach. It wasn’t like him to stop for food like this, but he needed something to take his mind off everything.
- He stepped out of the car, adjusting the cuff of his suit jacket, and walked into the store. The door chimed as it opened, announcing his presence. Heads turned almost instinctively. He didn’t notice, but his arrival caused a ripple effect throughout the small store. His aura, a combination of confidence and charisma, was palpable. Women glanced over their shoulders, their eyes lingering a little longer than usual, and even the men couldn’t help but take notice. Jason Blake was the kind of man who turned heads without even trying.
