• “ Hi, darling! ” Dianne’s voice was warm and cheerful, immediately dissolving some of Lucy’s tension. She sounded genuinely happy to hear from her, her usual motherly tone wrapping around Lucy like a comforting blanket.
• “ Hi, Dianne, ” Lucy replied, her voice soft, trying to mirror Dianne's warmth, though a slight nervousness still lingered in her tone. “ I, um, just wanted to check in… see how you’re doing. ”
• “ Oh, I’m doing just fine, dear. I’ve been meaning to call you, ” Dianne responded, her voice brimming with energy. “ I’ve just been so busy these past few days, but I’m thrilled you called first. How’s my little Dylan doing? ”
