Chapter 91
- Steph was confused, but not more than Jacob. He only knew that he was the only one she worked for. Could it be that she did two jobs just to earn enough? But she comes from wealth herself. There's nothing she couldn't do by herself, that's what deepened his love for her. He recently just got to know about her talent that brushes on plain canvas. Was that her side hustle she was referring to? All these questions kept hearing up his thoughts until he had a strain. He didn't know how to approach this, though she could feel her already at the verge of breaking down, this brought about his question.
- 'What do you mean no one would want to work with you?" He kept a straight face even when his confusion was about to surface. Her dark hair was all over her face as she looked up to meet his eyes. She didn't know how she wanted to explain to her boss that she had been hunting for top magazines to submit her paintings to but he wasn't one to have noticed them then. She didn't want to bother him with that. Jacob saw the reluctance written all over, he felt her slowly pulling from him where she was comfortable. He didn't let go, he didn't want her to either. There was something she wasn't saying.
- "I planned to work with top magazines and have them look at my paintings. But even if that is gone, it won't be necessary anymore considering the fact my name is all over the internet with different hashtags to sum it up. You don't have to bother yourself with my issues." she informed him. He clenched his jaw knowing that he was a party to this new development that's definitely putting Steph's career on the line. He was still miserable that it happened and didn't know how to console himself, because he should be happy? Should he not?. Steph believed him and this phase was behind them. But it wasn't, like she said her life and career was in disarray. This scandal made it a whole lot worse.
