Chapter 36

  • A smile clasped itself on her face as she walked out of the office, the night almost out hiding. Soon, the whole street will be at the mercy of headlamps and streetlights, signalling to her that she had gotten home late again, just a little while since her joining Primer Magazine. She didn't bother to think about it being with it, with someone as Jacob as her boss. Instead, she looked at it from the angle of the sacrifices one made before greatness came to them. Was all of the stress, undermining, and sometimes snide remarks worth the whole “doing her thing'? When she recalls the deal she just made with the Hulk who was by all actions proving that he was one in her life, she agrees that it's worth it.
  • She'll get the money she needs for the grant and show him that she really is a brilliant hardworking lady, not just some girl he can play around with. Her parents too would be proud of her, that was for sure.
  • The Uber driver who picked her up was surprised when she bestowed him with a toothy smile as she climbed into the backseat. Not that everyone around this area were heartless or anything of that manner, they just never — since his driving them — have offered him a smile he didn't initiate. But he would be a fool to bring that up. She was acting friendly, but that didn't mean she couldn't be mean when the next was over. And he decided he would stick with her act. So long they don't get into any form of misunderstanding along the drive.
