• How had Steve even entered? How had he gained entrance into the hall without people seeing him? Angrily, she thought, had her mother invited him? That would just be too heartless because everyone knew that she was still stinging from the blow if the heartbreak but it was funny how she'd forgotten about Steve in the period of searching for a man.
• Something she hadn't needed because she could just have asked Jaccobs to come with her and he would've agreed. Thinking about this made her feel stupid.
