Chapter 32
- "Why did you wait?" He decided to divert the topic to a more important one. He really had not expected to see her sleeping on his desk, when he came on in. It would have been a pleasant surprise if he hadn't sighted the result of her shenanigans.
- Stephanie looked at him and shrugged. "There is a lot to do and it is impossible for you to finish it all by yourself, so I waited even though the PR team couldn't." She retracted her gaze from him and looked outside the office windows to the night skyline of the bubbling New Jersey. Stephanie let out a slight shiver, as though she was apprehensive of the picturesque view outside, or probably the thought of moving about in such darkness. He knew she did not have a car, so she had just reasons to worry.
- Even though the company was on the good side of town and was well guarded, Stephanie probably lived on the side that was a hot-spot to all the true crime stories he'd grown up learning of. Jaccob couldn't help but feel a little bit nervous on her behalf.
