Chapter 66
- After flagging down a taxi to the bar which was just a fifteen minute walk from her home, Stephanie began to regret being so short with her mother. Sure the woman was a very big pain in Stephanie's behind but it didn't mean she was necessarily bad.
- Stephanie knew all her mother wanted for her was for her to be happy but Stephanie greatly doubted that being a Stone came with the benefit of being happy. It was the main reason why she had broken out if the family after college and had decided to work, not spend her afternoons lounging on some private island her family owned or going on trips to world Spas. It was the reason Stephanie wanted nothing to do with the Stones wealth. There was never any happiness attached to the money.
- All the Stones knew of was public image and ways to amass more than they could spend. It was the reason why Stephanie couldn't be a painter or the reason why she never showed any of her works for people to see. Because of fucking public image.
