Chapter 287 Let Me Be The Father I Never Had

  • Isaac stood outside Eleanor's door, his heart pounding in his chest, a mixture of anxiety and determination swelling within him. His hand hovered over the doorbell, fingers trembling slightly as he debated pressing it. What if she refused to see him? What if she told him it was too late, that she didn’t want him back in her life? The thoughts ran rampant in his mind, but he shook them away. He had to try—he couldn’t let things end like this, not when there was so much left unsaid.
  • With a deep breath, he pressed the doorbell, the chime echoing inside the house. Moments passed, each second feeling like an eternity. He shifted nervously on his feet, his hands clenching into fists at his sides. Then, the door slowly creaked open, revealing Eleanor standing in the doorway, her face carefully neutral. She didn’t smile, but she didn’t immediately shut the door in his face either, and for that, Isaac was grateful.
  • “Eleanor,” he said softly, his voice heavy with emotion. Her eyes met his, but they were guarded, distant, and it made his heart sink.
