• Isaac’s office had a steady hum of productivity that afternoon. The clicking of keyboards and murmurs from conversations between co-workers filled the space, yet his mind was elsewhere. Sitting at his desk, staring at the spreadsheets in front of him, he found himself struggling to focus. The awkwardness that had settled between him and Eleanor after their conversation in the car had grown into something more, something uncomfortable.
