Chapter 186 Conniving Lucy

  • The evening was thick with anticipation as Isaac made his way through the dimly lit corridors of the castle, his footsteps barely making a sound against the cold stone floor. The weight of his new responsibilities as Alpha bore down on him, but there was something else too—an undercurrent of excitement that thrummed in his veins, something darker and more primal. Simon’s words echoed in his mind, guiding him toward the unknown that awaited him.
  • The building Simon had directed him to was at the far end of the castle grounds, tucked away behind a dense thicket of trees. It was an old, almost forgotten structure, its stone walls weathered by time and neglect. Isaac approached it, his hand resting on the hilt of the dagger he kept hidden beneath his coat. He wasn’t sure what he would find inside, but he knew he needed to be prepared for anything.
  • Without knocking, Isaac pushed open the heavy wooden door, the hinges groaning in protest as it swung inward. The room beyond was pitch black, the darkness swallowing him whole as he stepped inside. For a moment, he stood still, allowing his eyes to adjust to the lack of light. The air was thick with the scent of old wood and something else, something faintly sweet and intoxicating.
