• Aidan and Emily were sprawled across his bed, their textbooks and notes scattered haphazardly around them. The late afternoon sun streamed through the window, casting a warm, golden glow over the room. Aidan's bedroom was a mix of boyish clutter and growing maturity, with posters of classic rock bands on the walls, a few trophies from sports events, and a bookshelf filled with a mix of novels and academic texts. Emily lay on her stomach, her feet kicking idly in the air as she read aloud from her history textbook. Aidan, propped up on his elbows beside her, was more focused on her than on the words she was reading.
