Chapter 194 Bloodlust

  • Aidan descended the wooden staircase quietly, each step barely making a sound. The air in the safe house was still, the only noise coming from the distant hum of the refrigerator in the kitchen and the soft rustling of the wind against the windows.
  • He had been searching for Emily since he woke up, her absence from their bed leaving a cold, uneasy feeling in his chest. His brow furrowed in concern as he reached the bottom of the stairs, scanning the sitting room for any sign of her. The room was empty, the cushions on the couch slightly askew, but otherwise undisturbed. Aidan’s frown deepened, a strange sensation of dread prickling at the back of his neck.
  • “Emily?” he called softly, his voice carrying through the quiet house. When no answer came, he turned towards the kitchen, a sense of urgency building within him. The door to the kitchen was ajar, and Aidan pushed it open, stepping inside. The scene that greeted him made him freeze in his tracks, his heart skipping a beat as his eyes widened in shock.
