Chapter 262 Driving Under The Rain

  • The rain began to pour just as Isaac closed his office door behind him. The relentless patter of water against the windows echoed through the empty hallway. He glanced at his watch. It was late, and the building was nearly empty except for the usual night staff finishing their duties. As he made his way toward the parking garage, his thoughts drifted to Eleanor.
  • He hadn’t seen her all afternoon, but something about the quiet evening, the dark clouds rolling in, made him think of her. As if on cue, he spotted her standing at the lobby entrance, looking out at the rain, her small umbrella hardly a match for the downpour. Without hesitation, Isaac made his way toward her.
  • “Eleanor,” he called out softly.
