Chapter 142 Charis Passes Away

• Crystal sat by the hospital bed, her eyes red and puffy from crying. Charis lay unconscious, her face pale against the white sheets. Crystal’s mind raced with guilt and regret, the events of the day replaying over and over in her head. She had acted out of anger and now Charis was paying the price. She held Charis’s hand, squeezing it gently, hoping for a sign of life, a flicker of movement, anything.
