Chapter 97 Ninety Six

  • I carefully laid the tray I was holding, containing the fresh orange juice I had made myself, on the top of the cottage table. The warmth of the sunlight on my skin felt pleasant, and the wind blew away the strands of hair I had forgotten to tie back as I had made my way from the backyard house owned by La Monte. A big smile lit up my face as I watched my mother sitting on the white sand with Auntie Karena, laughing happily.
  • I had thought Zevran's father would stay for a few hours, but he had to leave immediately after receiving a call from his company. I had also thought Zevran would leave with him, but he had stayed behind, along with my older brother, to take the lead in swimming.
  • "It's a beautiful day today," Faith commented as she stood up from her seat and looked around. "I've never been to a place like this. I can't afford it, but here I am."
